Delete a community
Permanently remove your community and all its content.
About community deletion
Only the community owner can delete a community. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
When you delete a community:
- All channels, messages, and files are permanently deleted
- All roles and permissions are removed
- All members lose access immediately
- Apps installed in the community are removed
- The community name becomes available for reuse
This action is permanent
Deleting a community cannot be undone. All data, including messages, files, roles, and member history, will be permanently lost. Make sure you want to proceed before confirming.
Delete your community
- Desktop
- Mobile
- Right-click the community tab, or select the community image in the sidebar.
- Select Delete community.
- Type the community name to confirm.
- Select Delete to permanently remove the community.
- Tap the community name to open the menu.
- Tap Delete community.
- Type the community name to confirm.
- Tap Delete to permanently remove the community.
Alternatives to deletion
Before deleting your community, consider these alternatives:

| Transfer ownership | You want to leave but keep the community running. See Transfer ownership. |
| Remove members | You want to clear the community but keep it for yourself. See Kick or ban members. |
| Leave the community | You're not the owner and just want to exit. You can leave without affecting other members. |
