Delete a community

Permanently remove your community and all its content.

About community deletion

Only the community owner can delete a community. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

When you delete a community:

  • All channels, messages, and files are permanently deleted
  • All roles and permissions are removed
  • All members lose access immediately
  • Apps installed in the community are removed
  • The community name becomes available for reuse
This action is permanent

Deleting a community cannot be undone. All data, including messages, files, roles, and member history, will be permanently lost. Make sure you want to proceed before confirming.

Delete your community

  1. Right-click the community tab, or select the community image in the sidebar.
  2. Select Delete community.
  3. Type the community name to confirm.
  4. Select Delete to permanently remove the community.

Alternatives to deletion

Before deleting your community, consider these alternatives:

AlternativeWhen to use
Transfer ownershipYou want to leave but keep the community running. See Transfer ownership.
Remove membersYou want to clear the community but keep it for yourself. See Kick or ban members.
Leave the communityYou're not the owner and just want to exit. You can leave without affecting other members.
