Age restrictions

Restrict your community to users who confirm they are 18 or older.

What are age-restricted communities?

Age-restricted communities require members to confirm they are 18 or older before they can view content. When enabled, users see a confirmation prompt when joining or when the setting is activated on a community they already belong to.

Only community owners can enable or disable this setting.

Enable or disable age restrictions

Desktop

1. Right-click the community tab, or select the community image in the sidebar.
2. Select Community settings.
3. In the Overview section, find Age-restricted community.
4. Toggle the switch on or off.
5. Select Save to apply your changes.

Mobile

1. Open your community.
2. Tap the community name to open the menu.
3. Tap Settings.
4. Find Age-restricted community.
5. Toggle the switch on or off.
6. Tap Update community to save your changes.

What members see

When a user joins an age-restricted community (via link or invite), they see a confirmation prompt:

• Title: Age-Restricted Community
• Message: This community is age-restricted. You must confirm that you are 18 years or older to join.
• Button: "I am 18 or older" (desktop) / "I am 18+" (mobile)

If age restrictions are enabled on a community where users are already members, those members see a similar prompt and must confirm to stay or leave the community.
