Set up your settings
A few settings are worth a look before you start chatting and calling. You can change any of them later.
Open Settings
- Desktop: select your profile picture in the user tray, then select Settings.
- Mobile: tap your profile picture in the bottom navigation bar, then tap Settings.
Start with these
- Audio and video: on desktop, choose your microphone, speakers and camera before you join a call. On mobile this section is called Audio settings and holds noise suppression and a few call options.
- Notifications: choose how Root alerts you.
- Theme: pick light or dark, or make your own theme.
Text too small?
On desktop, open Accessibility settings to make chat text bigger or zoom all of Root, up to 200%. You can also press Ctrl + Plus to zoom in and Ctrl + 0 to go back to 100% (Cmd on Mac).
For everything else Root lets you change, see Settings.
