Billing and payments
View your transaction history and manage your payment methods from billing settings.
Billing settings require Root on desktop.
Add a payment method
- Desktop
- Mobile
- In the user tray, select your profile picture.
- Select Settings.
- Select Billing.
- Select + Add payment method.
- Enter your card details and confirm.
Billing settings are not available on mobile. To manage your payment methods, use Root on desktop.
Remove a payment method
You cannot remove your last saved payment method.

- In the user tray, select your profile picture.
- Select Settings.
- Select Billing.
- Next to the card you want to remove, select the options button (three dots).
- Select Remove.
- Select Remove to confirm.
Billing settings are not available on mobile. To manage your payment methods, use Root on desktop.
View transaction history

- Mobile
- In the user tray, select your profile picture.
- Select Settings.
- Select Billing.
- Select View transaction history.
Transaction history shows each payment with its date, description, type, status, and amount. Possible statuses are Paid, Failed, Refunded, Pending, and Canceled.
Billing settings are not available on mobile. To view your transaction history, use Root on desktop.
Failed payments
If a payment fails, it appears in your transaction history with a Failed status, and you'll receive an email if there are any issues. Root may automatically try the payment again a few times, and may charge a backup payment method if you've added one. Until the payment goes through, your Sudo perks may be paused or limited. To fix it, add or update a payment method in billing settings.
Billing intervals
Sudo is available on a monthly or yearly billing cycle. You choose your billing interval when you subscribe and are billed at that interval until you cancel.
