Edit and delete messages

Correct mistakes or remove messages you've sent.

Edit your message

Desktop

1. Hover over your message.
2. Select the Edit icon (pencil).
3. Make your changes in the text field.
4. Press Enter to save or Escape to cancel.

tip

You can also press the Up Arrow key to quickly edit your most recent message.

Mobile

1. Long-press your message.
2. Tap Edit message.
3. Make your changes.
4. Tap the green checkmark ✅ to save or the red ❌ to cancel.

Edited messages display "(edited)" next to the timestamp.

Delete your message

Desktop

1. Hover over your message.
2. Select the More icon (three dots).
3. Select Delete message.
4. Confirm by selecting Delete.

tip

Hold Shift and select the Delete icon (trash can) to delete a message instantly without a confirmation dialog.

Mobile

1. Long-press your message.
2. Tap Delete message.
3. Confirm by tapping Delete.

Deleted messages cannot be recovered.
