Report a user

Flag someone's account or profile so it can be reviewed.

What reporting does

Reporting sends the account to Root for review, along with the reason you pick. The person is not told that you reported them. Root reviews every report, but for privacy reasons we're unable to share the outcome of any investigations or moderation action taken.

Reporting does not stop the person contacting you. If you want them to stop, see Block and unblock users. To report a single message rather than the whole account, see Report a message.

Report a user

  1. Right-click the person's name or avatar (in a channel, member list, or direct message).
  2. Select Report user.
  3. Select a reason for reporting the account.
  4. Optionally, select the part of their profile you are reporting.
  5. Select Report.

Root confirms with Successfully reported user.
