Manage members

View your community's member list and manage individual members.

Member list information

The member list in Community settings shows the following for each member:

NameThe member's display name (colored by their primary role)
AvatarThe member's profile picture
RolesBadges showing which roles the member has
Owner badgeA crown icon indicates the community owner
+ buttonOpens the role picker to assign roles (requires Manage Roles permission)
Options menuThree dots button for additional actions like kick or ban

On desktop, the sidebar member list shows a simplified view with the member's avatar, name (colored by primary role), online status indicator, and owner badge for the community owner.

View the member list

  1. Right-click the community tab, or select the community image in the sidebar.
  2. Select Community settings.
  3. Select Members from the left navigation.

You can also view members in the sidebar panel, where they are organized by online status and grouped by role.

Search for a member

Find a specific member in your community.

  1. Open Community settings > Members.
  2. Use the search box at the top of the member list.
  3. Type the member's name to filter the list.

View a member's profile

See detailed information about a member and take actions.

  1. Select a member's name or avatar anywhere in the community (member list, message, or voice channel).
  2. Their profile panel opens, showing:
    • Display name and avatar
    • Action buttons (Call, Message, Add Friend)
    • Roles assigned to them
    • Notes (personal notes visible only to you)
    • Quick message box

Assign roles to a member

Give members roles to grant them additional permissions.

Required permissions
  • Manage Roles

From community settings:

  1. Open Community settings > Members.
  2. Find the member you want to modify.
  3. Select the + button next to their roles.
  4. Select or deselect roles as needed.

From a member's profile:

  1. Select the member's name or avatar to open their profile.
  2. In the Roles section, select the + button.
  3. Select or deselect roles.

Set a member's primary role

The primary role determines the color displayed next to a member's name.

Required permissions
  • Manage Roles
  1. Open the member's profile.
  2. In the Roles section, select the role you want to set as primary.

The primary role is indicated with a highlight border around it.

Remove a member

Remove a member from your community. For details on kicking and banning, see Kick or ban members.
