Invite members

Root communities are invitation-only, which means new members can't just find and join your community on their own. This gives you control over who joins and helps keep your community safe.

You can add members in two ways: send a direct invitation to friends already on Root, or share an invite link that anyone can use.

Send a direct invitation

Invite friends who already have a Root account.

Desktop

1. Right-click the community tab, or select the community image in the sidebar.
2. Select Invite members.
3. Find the friend you want to invite.
4. Select the role(s) you'd like to automatically give them when they join (optional).
5. Select Invite.

Mobile

1. Tap the community name to open the menu.
2. Tap Invite members.
3. Find the friend you want to invite.
4. Tap Invite.

Share an invite link

Share a link that anyone can use to join your community.

Desktop

1. Right-click the community tab, or select the community image in the sidebar.
2. Select Invite members.
3. (Optional) Select Edit invite link to customize the invite link.
4. Select Copy to copy your invite link.
5. Share the link either inside or outside of Root.

Mobile

1. Tap the community name to open the menu.
2. Tap Invite members.
3. (Optional) Tap the Settings icon (gear) to customize the invite link.
4. Tap the Copy icon (overlapping pages) to copy your invite link, or tap the Share (square with arrow pointing up) icon to share it directly from the app.
5. Share the link either inside or outside of Root.
