Create channels and channel groups

Channels are spaces where members can talk, share files, or collaborate on a specific topic. Each channel can support text, voice, or video, depending on its type.

Channel groups are collections of related channels grouped under a shared heading. They help organize the community’s layout, making it easier to find the right place to post or catch up on a conversation. For example, you might group channels under “Events,” “Off topic,” or “Projects” to make things easier to browse. Every channel must be inside some channel group.

You'll need the Channel Full Control to create channels and the Create Channel Groups permission to create groups. The Community Manage Apps permission lets you create App channels to control the placement of Apps within your community.
